LARS NORDBY (NO)

Lars Nordby (b. 1988, Norway) is currently based in Vishovgrad, Bulgaria. Nordby holds an MFA from the Oslo National Academy of Arts in Norway (2016). His work evolves around theatricality as a medium, combining art installations, delegated performances, and photography.

Solo exhibitions include Blue Seats at Centralbanken in Oslo (2024); Restaging Parallax at ICA - Institute of Contemporary Art in Sofia, Bulgaria (2022); White Card Wardrobe Plot at Gallery Reneenee in Amsterdam, the Netherlands (2021); Zinc White Lard at Galleri Sol in Bornholm, Denmark (2021); Old Laughter and Synonyms for Actors at Rafael Mihaylov in Veliko Turnovo, Bulgaria (2018); Tango, or Echoes of Conditional Self-Assertion at Kunstnernes Hus in Oslo, Norway (2016); Dear Hilesh at Chicago Art Department, in Chicago, USA (2015); and To Tole at Poznan Biennale in Poznan, Poland (2015).

Upcoming exhibition project is Anatomico at Anatomico Teatro Archiginnasio in Bologna, Italy (2026); and is currently working on the book The Irrelational (2026).

Lars Nordby also runs the art gallery Heerz Tooya in Veliko Turnovo, Bulgaria.

ABOUT HULIAS

Located in an underground vault in central Oslo, Hulias is an artist-run space that promotes spatially oriented contemporary art. Established in 2020 by four visual artists, Hulias is committed to provide an arena for emerging and established artists to convey their practice, and to be a space to experience contemporary art.
